Dr. Rebecca Johnson, DVM
Founder & Veterinarian
A native Upstate New Yorker, Dr. Johnson has called Phoenix home since she began her career in veterinary medicine. She spent her undergraduate years at Rice University in Houston, Texas, before heading back up North to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Boston, MA. After living through many snowy New England winters, she and her husband settled in the sunny Arizona desert in 2007.
She has extensive experience in canine and feline medicine, surgery, and dentistry. Dr. Johnson takes pride in her thorough approach to diagnosing and treating companion pets in all life stages, with a special interest in senior pet comfort care.
After spending most of her career in a fast-paced veterinary clinic setting, Dr. Johnson founded South Mountain Mobile Veterinary Services in 2021. This allows her to cultivate a more patient-friendly experience for her clients and their pets, as well as to spend more time with her family.
Dr. Johnson is part of the team behind www.theDVMoms.com, providing resources and support to members of the veterinary profession worldwide with a special focus on the challenges faced by veterinarian moms. Additionally, she is committed to giving back to her local community by sharing her time and expertise with local rescue groups and advocates for homeless pet owners.
In her free time, she can be found hiking all over South Mountain and other local mountain parks with her trusty canine sidekick, Vinnie. Dr. Johnson is also an avid reader and is always on the lookout for the next great book. She lives in South Phoenix with her husband and their two young children.

A native Californian, Tracey has called Arizona home since high school. She received her Vet Assistant certificate from Apollo College and began work as a veterinary technician at a veterinary hospital in Goodyear, where she and Dr. Johnson had the privilege of working side by side for many years.
During her time in clinical practice, Tracey honed her technical skills in small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
In her free time, Tracey enjoys spending time with her amazing husband and children, as well as their two dogs, a lab mix and a Morkie.
Tracey’s compassion and commitment to pet comfort make her a great addition to the South Mountain Mobile Vet team.
